KENYA FREEMAN is the Senior Lead Designer and CEO of Sylvia Mollie Collections – an American lifestyle brand that embodies bold femininity with transitional ready-to-wear pieces, and effortless makeup. Inspired by two bold women in her life, Sylvia (mother) and Mollie (grandmother), Kenya set out to create classic garments that instills power and confidence to fearless women making an impact in the world.
In Norfolk, VA, Kenya had a love for designing and sewing at an early age, which naturally guided her to study Fashion Design at American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, Georgia. After years of blood, sweat, and tears (and faith), Kenya earned her first big break in 2013, where she showed a collection at WWD Magic in Las Vegas. In 2016 she won the Emerging Artist Award from the city of Atlanta, and was a top designer and finalist on Season 16 of Project Runway. Kenya has designed for the leading plus size brand Torrid and a top selling designer for fast fashion giant Shein.
She’s also worked with brands like Ford, Toyota, Essence Magazine, Hallmark, and many more! Brand Ambassador is also under her belt, representing designer essentials brands like Kia Scissors, Juki Sewing Machine, Jiffy Steamer, A&E Threads and Alvanon dress Forms. Kenya is currently rebranding the Sylvia Mollie brand focusing on what she calls “my size”, a collection reflecting women sizes 10-20. This is only the beginning for Kenya Freeman and the Sylvia Mollie brand, with the launch of her latest collection, brand collaborations, and nonprofit I’m Sew Fantastic.

Through our summer camp, we embark on a journey of self-love and community engagement, seizing the opportunity to give back and enrich the lives of our youth. By celebrating the unique qualities of each participant, we aim to boost their self-esteem and confidence, empowering them to embrace their creativity and pursue their passions with enthusiasm and determination.
Our camp is more than just a series of sewing and crafting workshops; it’s a platform for growth, inspiration, and connection. Together, we embark on a mission to show these kids that the sky is the limit and that their creative potential knows no bounds.
